DRiV Assessment
The DRiV assessment helps leaders understand what drives and drains them, and how that translates into their behavior.
Everyone has some drive: what they are passionate about, where they want to focus their energy, and what they expect from themselves, others, and their jobs. But not everyone is driven in the same way.
The DRiV helps discover the why behind the what.
The DRiV is a 20-minute assessment that measures an individual’s motives, values, and habits — their drivers — and can help new leaders or transitioning leaders:
- re-evaluate their leadership style and behaviors.
- understand what they enjoy doing (and don’t enjoy doing) at work and in their leadership.
- intentionally plan how they will be successful in their new leadership role.
- increase their self- and other-awareness.
In conjunction with a customized report debrief, this assessment is a useful tool in helping leaders really understand and put into practice, “What got you here won’t get you there.”
DRiV Assessment Mode
Based on more than 50 years of research into what drives human behavior, this leadership assessment will uncover 28 specific drivers based on six key factors:
Insight
The drive for creativity, knowledge, and learning, versus explicit rules and expectations
Impact
The drive to be bold and influential, versus seeking certainty and accuracy
Meaning
The drive to find and realize one’s purpose, and to make lasting or noteworthy contributions
Connection
The drive to build relationships and work with others, versus seeking independence
Harmony
The drive to support and treat others well, versus seeking personal achievement and status
Focus
The drive to reliably execute tasks, versus seeking flexibility and personal enjoyment

By applying a numeric score to an individual's motivations, it creates a clear picture of where they naturally focus their energy. It can also indicate if they are over-emphasizing certain areas, while overlooking the value of others.
This knowledge can help individuals gain self-awareness that will allow them to improve their job satisfaction, protect their mental health and more positively influence others.
The DRiV assessment is also a powerful team-building tool as it can be used to build shared understanding, increase alignment, and optimize team performance.
"Joan has helped me to understand how small actions (and reactions) not only affect others, but ultimately how they affect me personally and the organization as a whole. It is amazing how working on one carefully selected goal has made such a positive difference in my effectiveness working with others and in my overall happiness."
